You just can’t say no to classic Disney characters as LEGO minifigures. I’m really glad to see a whole set of collectible Disney minifigures released, but the only real downside is there are only eighteen! Disney has no shortage of great characters and franchises, and it’s unfortunate that some great ones like Wreck-It Ralph, Beauty and the Beast and Pinocchio didn’t make the cut. Hopefully they’ll release new Disney series regularly to set this right!

What we did get this go around is pretty exciting! I even like this series far more than the Simpsons ones. The biggest problem with Simpsons minfigures is that every single one has a special molded head. This Disney series has that problem too, but only for seven of the minifigures. Most of them have standard LEGO heads, and that means hair and head pieces that are interchangeable with other LEGO minifigures!
Pimpin' hat
Ariel’s hair, Alice’s hair and Captain Hook’s hat are must-haves for any serious collector. I plan on getting my hands on a few extras of these if I can. They look spectacular on regular minifigures.
The accessories are a bit lacking, though. The Simpsons has Disney beat here. For starters, a whopping eight minifigures don’t even come with an accessory of any kind (seven if you count Buzz’s wings, which I don’t!) And the accessories we do get are a bit underwhelming. Peter Pan has two knives for some reason, as if he’s some kind of cholo growing up on the streets of Neverland. Ariel has a generic clam and ruby. Maleficent’s staff is fairly generic, but she comes with a cool hat and a cape. Aladdin and Genie both come with a lamp (redundant), and it’s available in a small Jasmine set from the Disney Princesses line. Captain Hook’s sword is pretty cool, and so is Ursula’s trident. I also really love Alice’s “Drink Me” bottle.

The whole series is a great addition to your collection, especially if you’re a Disney fan (and who isn’t!) There are several really incredible pieces and minifigures in this series too, so it’s worth hitting up exchange sites for extras.
You can get the whole set on Amazon for a bit over $100 currently (probably will go up quick). You’re paying an extra $1 or so per minifigure if you go this route. This is well worth it since you don’t have to bother with guesswork when picking out the blind bags. You don’t want to end up with four Cheshire Cats!
